Terms and Conditions for First News Digital subscriptions paid by recurring credit or debit card.
1.1. These terms and conditions (“Terms”) will apply to any agreement between you and First Group Enterprises Limited (Company number 5705759) whose registered office is at 10 London Mews, London, W2 1HY (“First News”, “we” or “us”). These Terms govern your use of our service. As used in these Terms, “Service” means the digital edition provided by First News including all features and functionalities, the website, and user interfaces, as well as all content and software associated with our service.1.2. Completion of your application form for a subscription constitutes an offer by you to subscribe to the Service, and/or App subject to these Terms, which will become a legally binding agreement when we confirm our acceptance. The terms of Terms supersede all previous communications, contracts, proposals or terms between us.
2.1. Your First News subscription to the Service (“Subscription”) will continue until terminated. To use the Service you must have Internet access and provide us with one or more Payment Methods. “Payment Method” means a current, valid, accepted method of payment, as may be updated from time to time, and which may include payment through your account with a third party. Unless you cancel your membership before your billing date, you authorise us to charge the Subscription fee for the next billing cycle to your Payment Method (see “Cancellation” below).2.2. We may offer a number of subscription plans, including subscriptions offered by third parties in conjunction with the provision of their own products and services. Some subscriptions may have differing conditions and limitations, which will be disclosed at your sign-up or in other communications made available to you. We use Recurly, Inc, a safe and secure payments platform (a company incorporated in California, whose registered address is at 400 Alabama Street, Suite 202 San Francisco, CA 94110) (“Recurly”) to take and process payments for your Subscription and to provide you with account management services. You can find specific details regarding your First News Subscription by visiting Recurly and clicking on the “Account” link available at the top of the pages under your profile name.
3.1. We will process any personal data (such as contact details) listed in the application form for Services in accordance with our privacy policy (available at https://subscribe.firstnews.co.uk/privacy/).
4.1. We may from time to time offer special promotional offers, plans or subscriptions (“Offers”). Offer eligibility is determined by First News at its sole discretion and we reserve the right to revoke an Offer and put your account on hold in the event that we determine you are not eligible. Members of households with an existing or recent First News membership may not be eligible for certain introductory Offers. We may use information such as device ID, method of payment or an account email address used with an existing or recent First News membership to determine Offer eligibility. The eligibility requirements and other limitations and conditions will be disclosed when you sign-up for the Offer or in other communications made available to you.
5. Billing and Cancellation
5.1. Billing Cycle. The Subscription fee for the Service will be charged to your Payment Method on the specific payment date indicated on the “Account” page. The length of your billing cycle will depend on the type of subscription that you choose when you signed up for the Service. In some cases your payment date may change, for example if your Payment Method has not successfully settled, when you change your subscription plan or if your paid membership began on a day not contained in a given month. Visit Recurly and click on the “Billing details” link on the “Account” page to see your next payment date. If you signed up for the Service using your account with a third party as a Payment Method, you can find the billing information about your Subscription by visiting your account with the applicable third party.5.2. Payment Methods. To use the Service you must provide one or more Payment Methods. You authorise us to charge any Payment Method associated to your account in case your primary Payment Method is declined or no longer available to us for payment of your Subscription fee. You remain responsible for any uncollected amounts. If a payment is not successfully settled, due to expiration, insufficient funds, or otherwise, and you do not cancel your account, we may suspend your access to the Service until we have successfully charged a valid Payment Method. For some Payment Methods, the issuer may charge you certain fees, such as foreign transaction fees or other fees relating to the processing of your Payment Method. Local tax charges may vary depending on the Payment Method used. Check with your Payment Method service provider for details.5.3. Updating your Payment Methods. You can update your Payment Methods by going to the “Account” page. We may also update your Payment Methods using information provided by the payment service providers. Following any update, you authorise us to continue to charge the applicable Payment Method(s).5.4. Cancellation. You can cancel your Subscription at any time, and you will continue to have access to the Service through the end of your billing period. Payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for any partial Subscription periods. Please click here to set up and manage your account. To cancel, go to the “Account” page and follow the instructions for cancellation. If you cancel your Subscription, your account will automatically close at the end of your current billing period. To see when your account will close, click “Billing details” on the “Account” page. If you signed up for the Service using your account with a third party as a Payment Method and wish to cancel your Subscription, you may need to do so through such third party, for example by visiting your account with the applicable third party and turning off auto-renew, or unsubscribing from the Service through that third party. If you are unable to self manage your account please contact the digital team on [email protected] who will assist with cancellation requests. 5.5. Changes to the Price and Subscription Plans. We may change our subscription plans and the price of our Service from time to time; however, any price changes or changes to your Subscription plans will apply no earlier than 30 days following notice to you.
6.1. You agree not to archive, reproduce, distribute, modify, display, perform, publish, license, create derivative works from, offer for sale, or use (except as explicitly authorised in these Terms) content and information contained on or obtained from or through your Subscription. You also agree not to: circumvent, remove, alter, deactivate, degrade or thwart any of the content protections in the Service; use any robot, spider, scraper or other automated means to access the Service; decompile, reverse engineer or disassemble any software or other products or processes accessible through the Service; insert any code or product or manipulate the content of the Service in any way; or use any data mining, data gathering or extraction method. In addition, you agree not to upload, post, e-mail or otherwise send or transmit any material designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment associated with the Service, including any software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs. We may terminate or restrict your use of our service if you violate these Terms or are engaged in illegal or fraudulent use of the Service.6.2. The content provided to you as part of your Subscription (“Content”) is owned by us. Content is protected by the relevant intellectual property laws that may be in force from time to time.6.3. We hereby grant you a limited, revocable, license (without the right to sub-licence) to access and display the Content (excluding any software code) solely for your personal, non-commercial use in connection with viewing the website and/or using the Subscription. The Subscription may also contain Content of users and other persons licensed to us. Except as provided in this Agreement or as explicitly allowed by the subscription, you may not copy, download, stream, capture, reproduce, duplicate, archive, upload, modify, translate, publish, broadcast, transmit, retransmit, distribute, perform, display, sell or otherwise use any Content appearing on or through the subscription.
7.1. We will not be responsible for any failure to perform our obligations to you in connection with these Terms or in relation to your Subscription where this failure is caused wholly or mainly by circumstances beyond our control.7.2. Our liability to you in connection with any breach of these Terms or otherwise (whether under contract, in negligence or other tort or under any other breach of duty) will not exceed the total Subscription fee charged in the twelve months preceding such breach. In no event shall we be liable for any loss of profits, loss of business opportunity, loss of data or loss of reputation or for any indirect, consequential or special loss, damage, liability, cost or expense.7.3. Nothing in these Terms affects any of your statutory rights if you are a consumer, or any liability that may not be lawfully excluded or limited.
8.1. The member who created the First News account and whose Payment Method is charged (the “Account Owner”) is responsible for any activity that occurs through the Subscription account. To maintain control over the account and to prevent anyone from accessing the account (which would include information on viewing history for the account), the Account Owner should maintain control over the devices that are used to access the Service and not reveal the password or details of the Payment Method associated with the account to anyone. You are responsible for updating and maintaining the accuracy of the information you provide to us relating to your account. We can terminate your account or place your account on hold in order to protect you, First news or our partners from identity theft or other fraudulent activity.
9. Miscellaneous
9.1. Governing Law. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.9.2. Changes to Terms. First News may, from time to time, change these Terms. We will notify you at least 30 days before such changes apply to you.9.3. Electronic Communications. We will send you information relating to your account (e.g. payment authorisations, invoices, changes in password or Payment Method, confirmation messages, notices) in electronic form only, for example via emails to your email address provided during registration.9.4. All notices must be in writing in the English language and sent by post or email. 9.5. No party who is not a party to these terms may enforce any term of these Terms.
DIRECT DEBIT SUBSCRIPTION TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
Terms and Conditions for First News Print and Digital subscriptions paid by recurring direct debit.
- Subscription Types: We offer monthly, 3-monthly, 6-monthly, and 12-monthly direct debit subscriptions for both print and digital editions of First News.
- Pricing: the pricing of payments described below in section 3 reflect our ‘standard’ subscription rates and will not be correct for all subscription offers. Other prices will be applicable as part of special offers or promotions. Those prices will be clearly described during the relevant check-out process.
- Payment Schedule:
- Monthly Direct Debit Subscription:
- The subscription is a continuous 4-week direct debit plan.
- The first payment for the initial 4-week term is £11.99 and will be processed 14 days after the subscription order is placed.
- Subsequent payments for each successive 4-week term will be processed the day after the third issue of the current term. First News is issued every Friday.
- Payments will be automatically deducted every 4 weeks thereafter unless the subscription is cancelled.
- 3-Monthly Direct Debit Subscription:
- The subscription is a continuous 13-week direct debit plan.
- The first payment for the initial 13-week term is £33.99 and will be processed 14 days after the subscription order is placed.
- Subsequent payments for each successive 13-week term will be processed the day after the 12th issue of the current term. First News is issued every Friday.
- Payments will be automatically deducted every 13 weeks thereafter unless the subscription is cancelled.
- 6-Month Direct Debit Subscription:
- The subscription is a continuous 26-week direct debit plan.
- The first payment for the initial 26-week term is £62.99 and will be processed 14 days after the subscription order is placed.
- Subsequent payments for each successive 26-week term will be processed the day after the 25th issue of the current term. First News is issued every Friday.
- Payments will be automatically deducted every 26 weeks thereafter unless the subscription is cancelled.
- 12-Month Direct Debit Subscription:
- The subscription is a continuous 52-week direct debit plan.
- The first payment for the initial 52-week term is £114.99 and will be processed 14 days after the subscription order is placed.
- Subsequent payments for each successive 52-week term will be processed the day after the 51st issue of the current term. First News is issued every Friday.
- Payments will be automatically deducted every 52 weeks thereafter unless the subscription is cancelled.
- Monthly Direct Debit Subscription:
- Subscription Price Increases:
- We reserve the right to increase subscription prices in line with our own inflationary cost increases. First News incurs regular cost increases due to fluctuations in the price of paper, distribution, and other factors that contribute to the overall cost of producing and supplying the products.
- Subscriber Details:
- On registering for a subscription, you acknowledge that you have provided First News with the correct contact and delivery details for the ongoing management of the subscription.
- It is your responsibility to update First News with new details if your delivery address or contact information changes. Failure to do so may result in loss of access to your digital edition and missed deliveries of your print subscription.
- Delivery Information:
- Delivery charges for the print edition are included in the price of your order.
- Copies dispatch from our mailing house every Wednesday, and UK deliveries should arrive by Friday.
- Please note that Royal Mail may experience delivery delays from time to time, so your delivery may take longer.
- Deliveries during December may be delayed due to the increase in demand on Royal Mail services.
- If you experience any delivery problems, please contact [email protected]. To rectify any delivery issues, please notify First News within 5 working days of a missed delivery.
- We reserve the right, at our absolute discretion, to cancel printed copies in your subscription if it becomes apparent to us that the postal service in your area is continually failing to deliver to your address successfully or on time.
- Cancellation Policy:
- Customers have a 14-day cooling-off period to cancel their subscription before the first payment is processed.
- If cancellation occurs within the 14-day period, the subscription will be terminated. In such cases, no print issues will be dispatched, and digital access will be revoked.
- To cancel the subscription, customers must contact us via email at [email protected] or call us on 0330 333 0186 at least seven days before the payment for the next term is processed.
- Refund Policy:
- No refunds will be issued for payments that have already been processed.
- Modification of Terms: First News reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. Continued use of the subscription service constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
By subscribing to our service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions in their entirety.
- Offer Description: The trial offers are paid by Direct Debit and provide customers with access to a First News print and digital subscription.
- Payment Terms: a. Upon signing up for the trial offer, a £1 charge will be applied for the first 6 issues of the newspaper/magazine. b. The £1 payment will be processed via Direct Debit 14 days after the initial sign-up for the trial. c. Following the trial period, a quarterly payment equivalent to 13 issues of the newspaper/magazine will be charged. d. The quarterly payment will be processed once the 4th issue of the newspaper/magazine has been delivered.
- Cancellation Policy: a. Customers have the option to cancel their subscription at any time from signing up until they’ve received their 4th issue. b. If cancellation occurs before the quarterly payment is taken, no further copies of the newspaper will be delivered, and the trial offer will be terminated. c. Please note that no refunds will be given on payments that have already been processed.
- Direct Debit Cancellation: a. If you pay by Direct Debit, you must also cancel the Direct Debit with the bank to avoid further payments. b. Please note that we are unable to make refunds on payments already taken by Direct Debit.
- Delivery Schedule: a. The quarterly payment is taken after the 4th issue of the newspaper/magazine due to the additional time required for printing, wrapping, and delivery. b. Subsequent deliveries will continue based on the regular delivery schedule of the newspaper/magazine.
- Eligibility: By participating in this trial, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions. Participation is only open to individuals who have a UK delivery address.
- One Trial per Household: Each household is limited to one trial of First News. Multiple trials within the same household are not permitted.
- Verification: We reserve the right to verify household information and disqualify any participant found to be in violation of this policy.
- Disqualification: Participants found to have violated the one trial per household policy will be disqualified from the trial, and any benefits accrued will be forfeited.
- Changes to Terms: First News reserves the right to modify or terminate this policy at any time without prior notice.

- Acceptance of Terms: a. By signing up for the trial offer, customers acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to abide by these terms and conditions.
EDITORIAL COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
1.GENERAL TERMS
1.1 These terms and conditions (our “General Terms”) apply to all competitions promoted by First Group Enterprises Limited (the “Competitions”). Each Competition also has its own specific terms and conditions such as the details of how to enter, what the opening/closing dates are and what sort of prize you may win (the “Specific Terms”.) If the Specific Terms conflict with these General Terms, the Specific Terms will take precedence.1.2 We may change these General Terms at any time.1.3 By entering any Competition you agree that you are legally bound by these General Terms and any applicable Specific Terms.
- IDENTITY OF FIRST GROUP ENTERPRISES LIMITED OF THE COMPETITION
2.1 Unless any Specific Terms tell you otherwise, First Group Enterprises Limited of each Competition is First Group Enterprises Limited. If First Group Enterprises Limited is a third party the terms “we” and “us” in these General Terms shall refer to both First Group Enterprises Limited and the third party promoter.2.2 First Group Enterprises Limited is a company registered in England and Wales. Our registered office is at 10 London Mews, London, W2 1HY. [You can write to us at that address if you have any concerns in relation to any of our Competitions – please set out clearly the name of the Competition and your concern.]
- ELIGIBILITY RULES FOR OUR COMPETITIONS
3.1 Where entrants are required to sign a release or other document before participating in a Competition and the entrant is under the age of 17 years, such document must be signed by that person’s parent or legal guardian before participation in the Competition.3.2 Any minimum or maximum age requirements will be stated in the Specific Terms for the relevant Competition.3.3 Certain Competitions may have additional eligibility requirements, such as valid passports, visas, good physical health and so on. Any such additional eligibility requirements will be stated in the Specific Terms covering the relevant Competition.3.4 It will be our sole decision as to whether any eligibility requirement has or has not been met and we may require evidence or confirmation from entrants before awarding prizes.3.5 The competition is only open to all residents in the UK, except:(a) employees of First Group Enterprises Limited or its holding or subsidiary companies;(b) employees of agents or suppliers of First Group Enterprises Limited or its holding or subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or(c) members of the immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above.3.6 In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. First Group Enterprises Limited may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.
- HOW TO ENTER
4.1 The competition will run from [TIME] on [DATE] (the “Opening Date”) to [TIME] on [DATE] (the “Closing Date”) inclusive.4.2 All competition entries must be received by First Group Enterprises Limited no later than [TIME] on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.4.3 To enter the competition:(a) by post: to be valid, Entries must be received after the Opening time and before the closing time. Entries that are submitted before the opening time and after the closing time will not be entered in the Competition;(b) by email: to be valid, entries must be received after the Opening time and before the Closing time. Entries that are submitted before the Opening time and after the Closing time will not be entered in the Competition;(c) by webform: to be valid, entries must be received after the opening time and before the closing time. Entries that are submitted before the opening time and after the closing time will not be entered in the Competition.
4.4 First Group Enterprises Limited will not accept competition entries that are:(a) automatically generated by computer;(b) completed by third parties or in bulk;(c) illegible, have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with;(d) photocopies and not originals; or(e) incomplete.
4.5 There is a limit of one entry per person. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.4.6 [First Group Enterprises Limited reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition.]4.7 [Competition entries cannot be returned.]4.8 No Payment. No fees shall be payable to any entrant in relation to their entry in any Competition.]
- WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT
5.1 The winner of the competition will be notified in writing, within 28 days.5.2 The decision of First Group Enterprises Limited is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.5.3 First Group Enterprises Limited will contact the winner personally as soon as practicable after the Closing Date, using the telephone number, postal address or email address provided with the competition entry.5.4 First Group Enterprises Limited will send the name and county of the winner to anyone who writes within one month after the Closing Date of the competition requesting details of the winner and who encloses a self-addressed envelope to the address set out in condition 2.2 OR A list of Winners can be viewed at the offices of First Group Enterprises Limited set out in condition 2.2 from the Closing Date for a period of 28 days.
- PRIZES
6.1 We reserve in all cases the right to replace the stated prizes with prizes that we consider to be of broadly equivalent value. We offer no cash alternative for non-cash prizes and prize winners must accept prizes in the form offered.6.2 Where entrants or prize winners are required by us to sign a release or other document before redeeming a prize and the prize winners is under the age of 17 years, such document must be signed by that person’s parent or legal guardian prior to the prize being awarded.6.3 All prize winners will be notified that they have won a prize within twenty eight (28) days of the closing date of the Competition by telephone, in writing, or via the method specified in the Competition Specific Terms.6.4 Physical prizes will be sent to the prize winners to an address within the UK only within 30 days of the Competition closing date via the UK mail service, unless otherwise stated. We will not be liable for any prizes which are lost, delayed, or damaged in the post for reasons beyond our control.6.5 We reserve the right to request proof of a prize winner’s identity, age and address. In the event that a prize winner cannot provide us with proof of identity and age reasonably acceptable to us, we may withdraw the prize and select another prize winner.6.6 We reserve the right to disqualify entrants from entering our Competitions or prize winners from receiving their prizes where any such person engages in unsafe, illegal, unsociable or inappropriate behaviour.6.7 All prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable. Where prizes consist of entry tickets, attendance at events, holidays and similar time-specific benefits, they must be taken on the dates specified in the relevant Specific Terms. If a prize winners does not take any element of a prize at the time stipulated by us (or any relevant third party prize provider) then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the prize winners. No cash will be awarded in lieu of that prize or part of it.6.8 We make no representation or warranty in relation to prizes provided and to the fullest extent permitted by law we shall have no liability to you in relation to any prize, its fitness for purpose, merchantability or otherwise.6.9 All stated prize values are at the supplier’s recommended retail price in pounds sterling and are correct at the time of printing. We take no responsibility for any fluctuations in prize values.6.10 No additional, further or other costs or expenses are included in any prize unless stated. For example, the costs of transport to and from a venue or an event are not included, and any accommodation prize includes the basic room charge only.6.11 Prizes supplied by third parties are always subject to availability. Third party suppliers of prizes may also often stipulate their own terms, conditions or restrictions and all prize winners agree to be bound by these. Subject to paragraph 17.2, we shall have no liability in relation to any prize provided by a third party provider.
- HOLIDAY PRIZES
7.1 Because of their complexity, we have certain special terms that apply to holiday prizes. These terms are set out in this section 6. Where holiday prizes include a place for a travelling companion (i.e. a holiday for the prize winners plus guest(s)) then these terms also apply to those persons.7.2 [The holiday is provided by [NAME AND ADDRESS OF TRAVEL AGENT].]7.3 [The holiday is for [NUMBER OF PEOPLE] to travel by [CLASS OF TRANSPORT AND TYPE OF CARRIER] to [TRAVEL DESTINATION] for [NUMBER OF NIGHTS] between [DATE] and [DATE] (excluding between [DATES]). The prize does not include travel insurance, the cost of transfers to and from airports or stations, food and drink, spending money, tax or personal expenses. Any other costs incurred in addition to those set out above and that are incidental to the fulfilment of the prize are the responsibility of the winner(s).]7.4 [You will be responsible for ensuring that you and any person travelling with you are available to travel and hold valid passports, any necessary visas and travel documents for the holiday in question on the travel dates specified. [Dates once notified to the travel agent cannot be changed].]7.5 It is the responsibility of the prize winners or any travelling companion (if applicable) to check any travel advisories issued by the Government and determine whether they wish to accept the risk of travelling to the holiday destination. We will not be responsible for any loss or damage suffered by any prize winners and their travelling companion (if applicable) arising out of their failure to follow any travel advisories issued by the Government.7.6 The prize winners and their travelling companion (if applicable) must comply with and are responsible for obtaining any inoculation and complying with any health regulations required by any holiday prize destination country.7.7 We will not be liable or responsible for any loss or damage suffered by any prize winners or their travelling companion (if applicable) if any prize winners or their travelling companion (if applicable) does not redeem a holiday prize as a result of any Government travel warning or advisory applicable to the destination country and/or countries. In particular, we shall have no obligation to substitute any alternative prize, cash equivalent or other compensation where a prize winners and/or their travelling companion (if applicable) fails to redeem a holiday prize for any reason.7.8 Prize winners and their travelling companions must comply with the terms and limitations of airlines, other transport providers, and the venues involved in the provision of any holiday prize, including any insurance policy relating to the holiday. In particular, entrants must comply with all health and safety guidelines and instructions and all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.7.9 Where the United States of America is a holiday prize destination, the prize winners and any travelling companion will be required to apply for an Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA). Applications must be submitted no later than three (3) days prior to the departure date. If this form is not lodged by both parties and within this time, they will be ineligible to enter the United States of America and will therefore forfeit their holiday prize.7.10 All holiday prizes must be taken within six (6) months of the closing date of the relevant Competition, or within the time limit specified in the Specific Terms if different, or the prize will lapse.
- EVENTS PRIZES
8.1 Where the prize for any Competition involves the prize winner’s attendance at (or tickets to) an event, the prize winners acknowledges that we are not liable or responsible if any part of the event is cancelled, varied or rescheduled for any reason. If this means that the prize winners (and/or any accompanying guests) cannot attend the relevant event, we shall be under no obligation to provide any cash or alternative tickets.8.2 Entrants proposing to participate in any Competition which involves, or to redeem a prize which involves, performing stunts or physical challenges should notify us of any medical condition and we may at our absolute discretion require the entrant, as a condition of entering the Competition or receiving the prize:(a) to submit to a medical examination by a medical practitioner approved by us and to obtain medical clearance to participate in the Competition and/or redeem the prize; and/or(b) to execute a legal document to exonerate us from liability in a form prescribed by us in order to participate further in the Competition and/or redeem the prize.8.3 Where prizes comprise or include “meet and greet” elements with celebrities, the prize may be subject to the availability of the celebrity in question or to rules imposed by the celebrity and we will have no liability for any inability or failure of any prize winners to attend any “meet and greet” session that has been arranged and offered on any date nor will we offer any alternative prize or cash alternative or compensation for such failure.
- UNCLAIMED PRIZES
9.1 All prizes must be claimed within twenty-one (21) days of our notification of winning or as otherwise stated in any Specific Terms. We reserve the right to award prizes unclaimed after this period to alternative prize winners or not to award them at all.9.2 If you do not provide us with correct and accurate up-to-date contact details, we will be unable to contact you and you may as a result forfeit your prize.
- PUBLICITY AND PERSONAL INFORMATION

- DRAWS
12.1 Where any prize is awarded via a prize draw, prize winners will be chosen at random from all qualifying entries within twenty eight (28) days (unless a lesser period is specified in the Specific Terms) of the Competition closing date.12.2 If we become aware that the same person has been selected as a prize winner more than once, that person will win once only and we will draw another name.
- COPYRIGHT

- TERMINATION OF COMPETITION

- DECISIONS FINAL

FIRST NEWS & VODAFONE COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Six winners (two from each age category) will win, a Kindle Paperwhite (kids), a £50 book token, a library pack of 100 books for their school, two tablets for their school and have their story published in a book brought to life by children’s illustrators (limited set of printed editions created and an ebook hosted on Vodafone’s site). By participating in this competition, you agree that insight and/or themes, and the name of the winner (the child) from the submitted fable may be used by Vodafone for promotional purposes, including but not limited to social media channels, and other communication channels (such as Vodafone’s News Centre). Non-identifying data such as insights and themes provided by competition participants may also be shared with NSPCC to support with their awareness raising activity, through work related to keeping children safe online.
Data Protection & consent
By entering this competition, you agree that you are giving consent on behalf of the child entrant. If the child you are submitting this on behalf of is a winner, their personal data will be securely passed to Vodafone who are providing the prizes (including any technical goods and the published book) so they can be posted out to the winner. 1. Payment Schedule:
The first payment of £9.99 will be processed 14 days after placing your order
This payment is for an initial 4-week term. No payment will be taken for your second 4-week term.
At the end of this 8-week term your subscription will convert to a recurring 3-month subscription charged at £31.99
Subsequent payments for each successive 13-week term will be processed the day after the 12th issue of the current term. First News is issued every Friday.
Payments will be automatically deducted every 13 weeks thereafter unless the subscription is cancelled.
2. Kids Pass:
You will be entitled to your free Kids Pass after the first successful payment of £31.99 has been taken.
After this date you will receive an email instructing you how to activate your Kids Pass.

3. Subscription Price Increases:
We reserve the right to increase subscription prices in line with our own inflationary cost increases. First News incurs regular cost increases due to fluctuations in the price of paper, distribution, and other factors that contribute to the overall cost of producing and supplying the products.
4. Subscriber Details:
On registering for a subscription, you acknowledge that you have provided First News with the correct contact and delivery details for the ongoing management of the subscription.
It is your responsibility to update First News with new details if your delivery address or contact information changes. Failure to do so may result in loss of access to your digital edition and missed deliveries of your print subscription.
5. Data Protection:
We will process any personal data (such as contact details) listed in the application form for Services in accordance with our Privacy Policy
6. Delivery Information:
Delivery charges for the print edition are included in the price of your order.
Copies dispatch from our mailing house every Wednesday, and UK deliveries should arrive by Friday.

Deliveries during December may be delayed due to the increase in demand on Royal Mail services.

We reserve the right, at our absolute discretion, to cancel printed copies in your subscription if it becomes apparent to us that the postal service in your area is continually failing to deliver to your address successfully or on time.
7. Cancellation Policy:
Customers have a 14-day cooling-off period to cancel their subscription before the first payment is processed.
If cancellation occurs within the 14-day period, the subscription will be terminated. In such cases, no print issues will be dispatched, and digital access will be revoked.
To cancel the subscription, customers must contact us via email at [email protected] or call us on 0330 333 0186 at least seven days before the payment for the next term is processed.
8. Refund Policy:
No refunds will be issued for payments that have already been processed.
9. Modification of Terms:
First News reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. Continued use of the subscription service constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
