Israel strikes Iran as tensions rise in Middle East – 29 October 2024
Israel launched attacks on Iran over the weekend, hitting military sites across the country. The action comes after Iran fired missiles at Israel earlier this month.

Iran’s leaders have responded cautiously, saying they will give an “appropriate response” but don’t want war.
Israel claims the strikes were successful, damaging Iran’s air defences and missile production. However, Iran says the damage was limited, although it did say that four soldiers were killed.
World leaders are worried about the situation getting worse and are calling for calm as conflict continues across the region, including in Gaza and Lebanon.
