With help from allies like the UK and the US, Israel stopped most of the missiles with its high-tech defence systems.
Iran says it attacked because of Israel’s actions in Gaza and Lebanon, where many people have been killed, although the war in Gaza started when fighters from Gaza killed more than 1,000 people in Israel on 7 October last year.
No-one in Israel was hurt by the missiles, but one Palestinian man died in the occupied West Bank. Iran says it’s doneattacking for now, but has more missiles ready.
Israel’s leader, Benjamin Netanyahu, warned that Iran had made a “big mistake” and “will pay for it”.
Israel has launched a ground assault on southern Lebanon, and has carried out more airstrikes on its capital, Beirut. Since the Israel-Gaza war began in October last year, fighters belonging to the Lebanese group Hezbollah have been firing rockets into Israeli territory.
