Prison transformed into posh hotel

by Hannah Greenfield Friday, 8 March 2013

An infamous prison in the Netherlands has been transformed into a posh hotel and people are paying to stay there!

The Het Arresthuis prison has had a luxury makeover. Its former cells have been transformed into 40 large rooms.

Opened in 1862, the hotel served as a jail until it was shut down in 2007. During its time as a prison it had a fearsome reputation.

Now visitors can pamper themselves in the sauna and enjoy in-room facilities like Wi-Fi and a flatscreen TV.

Would you want to spend the night in a former prison? Let us know in a comment below!

Not much of a surprise really.Money can take you anywhere for some people. But although the quality is fab, I don't think I will stay there especially when it use to be a prison.

At first glance I thought it looked like one of the places out of Doctor Who with the weird different time-dimensions and zappy white robots.
